Mark and Focus has published continuously since February 2015.
It began as an independent weekly editorial publication examining urban sustainability, water governance, climate resilience, infrastructure, circular economy transitions, and environmental policy.
Over time, the publication developed into a structured archive documenting changes in governance, technology, finance, infrastructure, resilience, and sustainable urban development across global systems.
Its current form builds on that history through a ten-desk systems intelligence architecture, evidence-linked publication records, and a broader analytical remit spanning markets, cities, infrastructure, economies, institutions, and society.

Robert C. Brears is the founder, editor, and principal author of Mark and Focus.
He is an environmental strategist, editor, and author specializing in water security, urban sustainability, climate resilience, environmental governance, infrastructure systems, circular economy, nature-based solutions, digital water, integrated resource management, infrastructure finance, and sustainable development.
His work examines how institutions, governments, utilities, industries, investors, and cities respond to environmental, infrastructure, resource, and climate pressures through policy, governance, finance, technology, and systems transformation.
